Review: Outstanding Machine For Passionate Coffee Lovers! - This is a fantastic coffee machine. I feel like a proper barista using it. It’s perfect for home use. Firstly it’s incredibly stylish ( I have the Brushed Stainless Steel ), sleek and easy to clean. The size is just perfect on the kitchen counter, we have a galley kitchen that isn’t particularly big but the machine fits in perfectly and is not too big. The instruction booklet is easy to read and helpfully has several pages clearly worded, with diagrams, on how to use and set the settings for first use. Also pages for troubleshooting. There are two settings for coffee dispensing - 1 shot or 2 shot. The frother is excellent and with a bit of practice ( and lots of YouTube tutorials) you can be making coffee art like a pro! The timer to dispense coffee and grind settings for the beans there are clear instructions what to set them to in the manual but I did alter slightly to reduce output and get a slightly finer grind of coffee. The great thing is it’s very easy to adjust to suit your taste/ beans and very user friendly. As you can see in the photos this Barista Pro machine delivers a professional level of creme on the coffee that you would expect in a high end independent coffee shop. The coffee comes out so smooth and flavourful as well as perfectly hot even if you have just turned the machine on. This is the perfect buy or gift for any coffee lover, a machine that respects the standards we now expect from our coffee and allows you to treat it as more of a passion and art form than most standard coffee machines. It’s never leaked and it’s very quiet as well. Looks stunning, easy to clean, great digital display, durable solid materials, well built and delivers a great cup of coffee.
Review: Great machine for practicing your barista skills with - This is chalk and cheese compared to the Tassimo pod machine we used to have before going on a barista course. It looks the part and is easy enough to use. The default grind size & duration and (expressing) water temperature are way out though. I’m currently using a grind size five and 15.5 second grind, which produces 18g of ground coffee, but extraction starts after 7 seconds and is complete by 20 seconds. So, I’m going to have to go finer still. I’ve also increased the water temperature to max, but I’m still only registering 80C. Nevertheless, I’m getting closer to a great coffee with every tweak and have just about cracked milk frothing too. Would I change it if I had the opportunity? Absolutely not. I’m having way too much fun.

**Q: How difficult is this to start using? I’ve only had automatic 1 button press machines before and was apprehensive at how complicated this might be?**
A: It depends on whether you are prepared for a purely manual machine. The length of coffee grind takes a little time to get right and may need alteration for different coffee beans, the brew time may need altering to suit your taste. I had the previous model which was slightly more hands on so the pro model is easier to use but still needs a reasonable input from the user. This is a good machine but does require far  more work than say a pod machine. There are cleaning and de-scaling programmes to carry out on a regular basis and because the first brew of the day is cooler and shorter than the rest I put a shot through the machine with no coffee in place. I wanted a machine which only produced coffee grounds as waste, the idea of throwing pods in the bin put me off that idea. 
            With this machine you have to be prepared to unleash the Barista within yourself but will get great Coffee with experience.

**Q: What do you use to turn on the wand to heat up your milk? And how do you use the press for the coffee beans? Are these both on the menu screen?**
A: You have handle for the pipe to heat the milk, it takes like 10 sec to heat up and then it start working. For the beans you have 2 adjustable handles on the front and side of the machine.

**Q: I'm based on saudi arabia, from where can i get water filter replacement? for ses878bss model.**
A: I buy mine from Amazon.

**Q: Would a latte glass fit under the coffee outlet?**
A: The taller vessel that would easily fit beneath the brew head of the Sage® SES878 Barista Pro® is approximately 11.5cm.

Great machine for those prepared to invest just a little time to learning how to get the best results from its capabilities. The current BARISTA PRO is the best *** machine in the Sage stable, in my experience. Produces a superior hot , tasty coffee, slickly and quickly and economically. Compared with my previous Sage Barista Express Impress, it is streets ahead in every way. Love it! (Beans of choice Lavazza Rossa)
