It gives sharp clear stereo images. Its 45 degree inclined binocular head ensures an easy observation and rubber eye-guards provide further comfort. This microscopy system is a great instrument for many applications. It can be used in geology, forestry, archaeology, agriculture and biology. It is appropriate for educational purposes in hospitals and schools. It is great for the exploration of the world of surface details and fine structures of various materials like wood, metal, solder, semiconductor and stone. It is perfect for the examination of insects, plants, rocks, stamps, coins, jewel, soldered points, microelectronic components or virtually any three dimensional objects. This scope is an ideal tool for watchmaker, jeweler, engraver, dies-maker, philatelist, coin collector, students, and etc. It comes with first-class quality and affordable price. It is brand new in factory-sealed box. Its retail value is above $650.

Review: Very nice microscope - I bought this at the recommendation of a watch repairer for my burgeoning watch restoration hobby. It is extremely well made, and has a clear and powerful view. I ended up returning it in favor of a digital microscope that is easier to see and can record pictures and video - however, this microscope technically did everything I needed. It's construction is heavy and solid. It's not accidentally sliding off of your desk or being knocked over. The lighting is excellent, and is convenient to switch between the two light sources. The instructions indicate that there may be halogen alternatives to the bulbs used, and for my purposes I would have looked at purchasing those to provide a little colder light temperature. The magnification is excellent. I didn't even unpack the high-powered eyepieces and the magnification was still more than enough for my needs. Overall, this is a well-made, well-packaged optical microscope that does what it does very well.
Review: Awesome Microscope! - All the stars. For sure! WE LOVE it! More importantly, all the kids (3) and all their friends and all the parents' friends... everyone loves it! If we are having friends over, we can just put it on the table. No need for an icebreaker! :) It has a really good depth of focus. It allows you to grab things with tweezers, disassembly (watches etc) dissection (even teff seeds). Try looking at ice cream sprinkles. They look like bowling balls, but they're irregular and spotty. Very weird! You can backlight as well as front light, but not at the same time. Good enough to see blood cells as dots. I just have to note that we already owned at least 2 or 3 regular microscopes. It was totally worth springing for the money to get the improved view!

## Questions & Answers

**Q: I am looking for a camera adapter. Does anyone know the mm of the eye piece ports? Thanks.**
A: The adapter on my camera that fits is marked 30.5 mm but please get a cheap 6 inch metric small metal scale and check the size.

**Q: Can you use both the top & bottom lights at the same time?**
A: No. There is one switch which to press to different positions for top, bottom, and off. I often use the clear platform and look at the specimen lighted from the top and then switch to light it from the bottom.

**Q: Can this microscope be connected directly to my PC or laptop?**
A: No. To do anything like that, you'd need to buy a separate camera, and even then, this scope isn't really set up to to accommodate a camera. If you're hoping to show images on a computer, you should definitely go with one of the other options that come with a camera.

**Q: Does the 80x refer to total magnification? Does it have a zoom feature?**
A: 80X total. The main objective can switch between 2X and 4X and it comes with 10X and 20X eyepieces. So you can combine to get 20X, 40X, 40X, and 80X.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Awesome Microscope!

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great starter scope, but go for an Amscope with a lower magnification range
*by D***C on June 6, 2015*

Great 3 dimensional detail. Len's display sharp images, no noticeable chromatic aberration. Feels quality. Though it sits in the corner taunting me on my current disinterest, I was highly satisfied, if not somewhat biased when I received it. Though it was not like the zoom microscope I envy in my biology lab. I have wanted one of these for years - my previous "microscope" was one of those chinese usb endoscopes (which I really enjoyed). My only complaints are the following. The bulb housing gets extremely hot, making you lose your subject when you inevitably graze the hot surface. The magnification does not offer much freedom in range which ends up with most specimens being too close, though that is my own fault for naively thinking that bigger is better. The very narrow depth of field is pretty significant even at lower mags. With the absence of lens eye cup, you find your noise being tickled constantly. It also seems the lens might be out of slight collimation, with light handling and no drops. But for the amateur biology or student on a budget, this should be your first choice.
