Another company, YongNuo, has developed a shoe-mount transmitter (the YN-E3-RT) that is fully compatible with the 600EX-RT and also has an AF assist light, which the Canon ST-E4 doesn't even have. If you're still set on using your PW Plus III with your 600EX-RT, you can do so but you will only be able to use the flash in Manual Mode (not E-TTL), and you won't be able to change your flash settings remotely. This is fine if you're shooting in a controlled environment, such as a studio, where your lighting won't change but if you're looking to use off-camera flash outdoors and/or in changing lighting conditions, I'd highly recommend getting another 600EX-RT, which you can then use as a transceiver on-camera to fully control your off-camera one.
