Review: Good shredder oil - Great oil for your shredder. Keeps the life. Second bottle. We've had the shredder for almost 10 years. Going strong!
Review: Saved My Jammed Shredder and Keeps It Running Smoothly! - Good day! I never thought I would be writing a review about shredder oil, but here we are. A while back, my shredder made a horrible noise and completely jammed up after trying to shred a stack of old papers. I was pretty sure it was headed for the trash. Before giving up, I decided to try this Fellowes shredder oil. I applied the oil to the stuck paper and along the cutting blades, then let it sit for several minutes. To my surprise, the shredder started working again. The paper came out, the blades moved freely, and it sounded much smoother than before. What impressed me most is how little oil it takes to do the job. The bottle is pretty large, so I expect it to last for years. These days, I use it about once a month after shredding roughly 400 to 500 pages at home. It only takes a minute, and it seems to help keep the shredder running smoothly and prevent the kind of jam that made me buy this in the first place. It is not the most exciting thing to buy, but if you own a shredder, this stuff is definitely worth having around. It may just save you from replacing your shredder machine.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: how to apply?**
A: apply oil from one side to the other

**Q: Can it kill pets?**
A: Reading the MSDS sheet for the oil and it is Canola Oil. So most likely won't kill a pet but you should keep it away from them. http://sites.fellowes.com/Fellowes/Materials/Documents/MSDS_35250.pdf

**Q: My shredder gets light usage - how do I know when to oil?**
A: I have a nice Royal paper shredder that crosscuts 16 papers at once. It advises against the use of oil. I don't think oil is need in the cutters themselves. I think they are just selling cheap oil to make money. Why use canola oil of all things?

**Q: This oil seems to leave gum-like residues. I read that it contains plain canola oil. Would olive oil or soybean oil be a better vegetable oil choice?**
A: i'm not sure if the jar you got is defective possibly... I haven't had any gum like residue at all from my fellows shredder oil... In fact I like it very much... I wouldn't put any other type of oil in because it may compromise the machine
