These tongs have truly earned 5 stars, & then some. When I first received these, my first thought was "Woah, they're heavy, yay!" Husband said they were exactly like the tongs chefs used in the restaurants that he worked at- tongs that would get thrown across the room, hit the wall, get a rinse & go right back to work without a flaw. I believe it. They are sturdy, have a solid grip, are easy to handle & keep closed around objects, are proven durable, gorgeous, & so daggum useful. I've used them to pick up cast iron pans out of fires, turn coals over, flip foil packages, turn sausages without tearing the casing, spin pizza pans in my conventional oven, fish out bones from stock pots before filtering the liquid, & whatever else comes to mind where I want to reach something hot. They keep a firm grip on food without being destructive, they are easy to handle, easy to clean. I store them on a hook on my wall, they cannot fit in my over-stuffed drawers & utensil barrels, but that's not a problem at all for me.
