Top is 7" with lip. Interior width is 6 3/8, external height 3". This is one HEAVY saucepan, feels/behaves more like cast iron. **Q: does this work on induction cooktops?** A: Despite what others say, it doesn't work with my induction stove(I get "E-1" message which means the material is not compatible). It failed the magnet test too. **Q: are there any markings on the bottom of this pan saying it is 18/10 stainless steel** A: The Cuisinart pans are multiclad construction i.e. aluminum core bonded to a brushed stainless steel exterior and mirror finish stainless steel interior. The stainless steel is 18/10 (used for professional European cookware) and indicates the amount of chromium (18%) and nickel (10%) in the stainless. They are heavy, don't discolor if you heat them properly (no instant high heat) and don't tarnish thanks to the chromium. I have several pots that are 18/10 construction but don't have this stamped on the bottom, I believe, because it's a given that 18/10 stainless will be used in good cookware. Hope this helps. (Amazon Customer) **Q: Can you tell me the sizes in inches of the 2 smallest indents (meaning the diameters of pots that it would fit)?** A: It was advertised that it would fit into one of the multi-clad pots that I purchased (2 qt saucepan), at first I thought it did not. I just measured the steamer & realized that the bottom rim of the steamer does fit but it sits on the very top of the pan. I haven't steamed anything yet but I think it'll work. The diameter is 6-1/4".
