It would be almost impossible to light a cigarette with it. But you could like something else and then light your cigarette with it **Q: Is this kit a two pack?** A: I recieved two in the pack. It works great. **Q: Is this safe to put on your keyring considering that it will sit in the pocket with a bunch of keys contacting it all day?** A: I don't see how a couple of keys scratching the rod will ever lit inside a pant pocket. It requires quite a bit of energy on your end to generate sparks. However. Ferrocerium (the rod's material) is very soft and constant scratching will result in loss of material.
