Review: Quiet and grinds beans well and fast! - I read quite a few reviews about coffee grinders. I always look at the negative reviews first. Most complaints for grinders I looked at were that the beans didn't grind finely or consistently. *USP* Although this one is about £10-15 more than others I looked at, there was one thing that stood out and convinced me, and that was the slanted angle of the cylinder where you put the beans in. This means the beans will fall into the path of the blades to a certain extent. It's important to realise that there is a degree of technique when grinding beans. *Pulsing the grind is better than continuous* The beans are so light, they get thrown up away from the blades. If you pulse the power button, they will fall down and get another grind. I think this is why most people who complained about other grinders were getting big chunks when they wanted a fine powder. Personally if I want a coarse grind, I press and immediately let go of the power button 20-25 times, with a second in between pulses. If you go for a coarse grind rather than a fine powder, it makes cleaning up afterwards much quicker. *Hold down the lid as it doesn't lock in place* The lid is quite light and if it gets dislodged between pulses, you can get coffee caught in it and make a mess when you remove it. Hold the lid down with one hand and press the power button with the other. *Tilt the grinder* Tilt or gently shake the grinder whilst grinding to make sure the beans get properly ground *Use a small brush* I saw other grinders came with a little brush. Not so with this one which is a shame. However I already has a suitable small brush and it is essential for cleaning after grinding. A small and round, soft makeup type brush would be best if you grind your beans to dust. *Quiet* The motor makes more of a high pitched whizz sound than a loud sound. It's a very quiet grinder, the beans make more noise than the motor as they are thrown against the clear plastic lid. NEGATIVES *Fragile lid* The lid is that type of plastic that cracks easily. It feels very thin and fragile. I think if you dropped it you would be sure to crack it. So as long as you are careful, you'll probably be ok, but it does look like it could be easily broken. As it isn't attached to the body of the grinder, maybe they are cheap to replace, but somehow I doubt it. *European plug* I was most disappointed that it came with a European plug and not a UK three pin plug. I do have an adapter, but that just adds bulk when plugging it in, and the adapters tend to be quite flimsy. When I tried the plug in one adapter, the plug was so loose it hardly stayed in place. Unfortunately the cord is not removable (and changeable) like most appliances. *Finished ground product* If you use the right grinding technique (see above), you can really get an even coarse or fine grind. Just pause between pulses. It really takes very little time at all. I think it accurate to say that any coffee bean grinder that has a rotary blade like this one, will give you an uneven grind if you don't pulse the blades. If the beans were being funnelled into a grinding wheel mechanism rather than being whacked by fast spinning blades, I think you could simply hold the button down for 10 seconds and then let go and get perfect results. So this gives the same result but, just takes a bit of technique. *Conclusion* So overall I think it is a cute little grinder. It's small, nice looking, quiet, fast, and it does its job very well. I'd probably knock half a star off for the negatives though.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Is this product made in China**
A: No, it's marked "Made in Slovenia". But thank you for asking; we do our best to avoid Chinese goods on both humanitarian and environmental grounds, and I think Amazon should add country of manufacture to every product advertised.

**Q: Uk plug
why sell this product with european plug in uk?**
A: THe coffee electric grinder that I bought was with UK plug

**Q: Is this 50 to 60 hz**
A: Hi I’m really not sure! But I wanted what I would probably call a traditional coffee grinder, as I had used in the past, and this worked really well. The design doesn’t seem to have changed over the years. Nothing like the aroma of freshly ground coffee, so I was pleased with my purchase.

**Q: Will it be sufficient to grind spices or e.g. flax seeds?**
A: Yes, of course. It would be sufficient.
Thanks
