I bought it for my 4 year old niece who absolutely loves it. The material is nice and it is perfect for the beach! She even wears it when it rains sometimes. Her head circumference was the bigger end of the medium and would have fit, but I chose to order the large size. It's a little big, which I anticipated, but figured she would be able to use it for awhile without growing out of it. Plus I figured if she ever wore her hair up, there would be room for her ponytail or bun to fit inside the hat as well. The only slight downside is that the brim is kind of long/big and tends to comes down right in her eyes which blocks her sight. I know that it is made to keep the sun out of her face so it is more than likely caused by the hat being slightly big for her at this moment. She just wets the hat in the water and that helps it sit on her head without moving out of place. This is now pulling apart. I attempted to mend the area which is several inches long, but the thread continues to pull right through. Despite this, I am ordering another hat. These dry quickly and are comfortable for her. $20 for a new hat 1-2x per year is something I will put up with but I do wish it would have stayed together at least until she outgrew it!
