    No customer service!!!

I'd purchased the previous version of the 10.1 on ebay, paid $180 for it. I LOVED it, used it non-stop (however, with their firmware updates, I could no longer use/view Youtube videos-my favorite usage). With the arctools which allowed access to the real android market and flash, it rocked. It had 2 speakers, centered "kickstand" good response time, just ran into hangups trying to load some sites (HOWEVER, I could view Flash content). The new "turbo" model was supposed to have more than twice as much RAM (1.5 versus 512) a seagate harddrive, texas instruments processor (used to mean something when they were made here in the U.S. I guess) so I jumped on it. The new model? One speaker and the kickstand shifted off to the side (Okay on a table or countertop, not good when trying to prop up on any other surface like I used to, required me to buy a special case to hold it in place). Processor speed? Only a SLIGHTLY more noticeable difference, and it STILL "hangs" on a lot of sites (my reason for purchasing another). I've encouraged others to buy Archos products, which they have, but I won't ever again, and they're still within the full-return dates. The biggest kicker?! Well, I've only had my NEW model for about 2 months and the charging plugin connection is loose, doesn't charge (and I AM conscientious about it being like a heavy keychain in the ignition-you have to pamper it) It was already noticeably loose within about a month, now it's beyond wiggily and it won't take a charge (get a message about "slow charge" or it just doesn't charge) I DID email their "Customer Service", never got a response at all.The other thing, Google has gobbled up Android (open source) aside from the usual built in non-wanted bloatware that makes developers design "root" applications, they also recently forced Google+ (Their version of Facebook) which is a HUGE resource hog, plus, I have Swissbrain/App aware that warns of any threats of apps installed, and Google keeps trying to push "Google Services" which not only has access/permissions to my browsing history (I can understand that for marketing reasons, since Google is profit based), BUT, they can read all of my messages, my contact information, every single detail. It automatically reinstalls.

    Love the tablet!

I first had a Kyros It had 2.3 Android, and that's as high as it would go. Yuk. Loved everything else about the Kyros, but when they came out with a newer version of the OS and I'd have had to buy another tablet to upgrade, I selected Archos.I'd gotten my husband an 8 inch Archos before the turbo came out, and other than the GPS not USING the satellites it found, he loved it. It had come with Honeycomb, and he was able to upgrade to ICS, and the Archos company offered support. So when I decided to get a new tablet, I saw the faster better 10 inch and I've not regretted it.I upgraded to the latest 4.3 only to find that now flash doesn't work because Adobe doesn't support past 4.0. However, that can't be blamed on the tablet hardware or the manufacturer. That's all Adobe's fault. (Insert whine here)It's responsive, rarely locks up, and the 10 inch screen lets me zoom to text I can read more easily (old eyes) without having to resort to 3 words a line. :)I didn't like that they named it almost the exact same thing as the old one, since it made finding and comparing prices a little more irritating, but that's one of those minor little shopping things.

    Great Tablet for the price

*by R***R on Reviewed in the United States on April 15, 2013*

Wonderful cheap tablet. I love it. It is the ideal cheap standard browsing device that lets you play games or check out facebook while watching TV. Great Tablet.Pros:1) Cheap2) Quick, stylish, functional, intuitive, more meaningless positive adjectives3) Great looking4) Full size USB, which is awesome5) Can upgrade to Android 4.0Cons:1) Small lag from app to app2) Not many instructions available (but you can use your new tablet and search online to figure things out3) Less mainstream device so there are less custom accessories like keyboards and cases4) Turns off randomly once in a blue moonOverall I love it. I don't think it is the best tablet, but I think it is by far the best for the price
