Series PLT tanks feature a pre-pressurized steel tank with an expansion membrane that prevents contact of the water with the air in the tank. This prevents loss of air to the water and ensures long and trouble-free life for the system. These tanks may be used with all types of Direct Fired Hot Water Heaters (gas, oil or electric) and hot water storage tanks. IAPMO listed and ANSI/NSF 61 certified. Install requires teflon tape, pipe dope, Indoor/House water pressure gauge, small portable compressor to bring the tank up to ambient house water pressure before installation. Review: Prevents pressure relief valve from firing - We got our pressure valve fixed and so had to install this to prevent the pressure relief valve from going off on the heater. This was easy to install and has clear instructions: 1: pump to the same pressure as the water pressure 2: install (no need to support it) It's pretty small so make sure to size it appropriately.
