Review: Great curler! - I love this curler. For reference, I have thin, but fairly coarse stick straight Asian hair that is down to my armpits. I find that this curler works better if you have med to long hair, since then you can wrap your hair around it more easily, and avoid burning yourself. After I got used to it, I could curl closer to my ends. Pros: -Has a sleek design, and doesn't look or feel clunky during use. -Heats up very quickly. This is quite useful when I'm in a rush in the morning. -Easy to use, and cuts the time you spend curling. Again, very useful for getting ready in the mornings. -Multiple heat settings. I like to use the lowest setting for more of a loose, beachy look. The higher the heat, the more distinctive curl you will get. -Safety off feature if you accidently forget to turn it off. I haven't actually used this feature yet but it would come in handy. -Swivel cord. This is a must nowadays for curling irons, imo. -Tapered barrel creates a nice curl shape, so that you don't have a huge block of volume at the ends like I used to get with even width curling irons, with the way my hair is cut. Review: AMAZING so far... - I've only just received this order in the mail today and immediately upon arriving home, I whipped it out of the box and tried it out. (The box was super easy to open too!) On first impression, the curler seems very cheaply made, light and non luxurious but who needs any of that fancy stuff? I like it lighter because its easier to hold up too. It comes with 4 heat settings: 310, 330, 360, and 400 which is totally fine with me because I am a high medium or low girl who doesn't care for options anywhere in between. There are literally only 3 buttons so its really easy to figure out. After of course spraying heat protectant in my hair, I plugged it in and turned it on. Within 30 seconds the curler was hot enough to use. I've never used a wand before and while it was heating, i practiced and it was so much easier (at least to me) to use than a hair curler! For this wand you want to point it downwards on the opposite side of the head of the hand holding the wand and wrap a strand of hair starting from the top of the hair and finishing with the ends. The great news is that your ends arent stuck in the hottest part of the curler (like in a clip one) and for as long (the top of the hair stays in the longest). The curls turned out GORGEOUS. I have really thick and longish asian hair that is usually really hard to curl since its so straight. I only had to use the lowest setting and probably only held the curler on each strand for about 5 seconds (just wait for the outside layer of hair on the strand to get hot). Hair damage is MINIMAL with this hair curler and I couldnt be any more excited! I am a senior in high school and I treat my hair like a god because its so temperamental and gets really dry. I've always wished I had curly hair but wasnt willing to damage it by curling it often or getting a perm. **Q: what's the difference btwn the original and the XL ??**
A: Original and XL differ in barrel size (it's also stated on the top left of the box). Original: from 1 in to 1/2 in XL: from 1 1/4 in to 1 3/4 in. I wanted bigger curls so I chose XL. With this, I can also get small curls by using the tip of the barrel. If you want slightly smaller curls, go with the original, but they're both very similar in size (only differ by 1/2 an inch). Either one you pick, it's great product. Absolutely love it.

**Q: is this dual voltage?**
A: This curling wand is not dual voltage, it's rated at 120V. I bought one of the voltage converter for my trip last time and it worked great. **Q: What are the dimensions of the barrel for the XL size?**
A: I stand corrected.  I measured it with a tape measure and at the top of the barrel it was 2 3/4" and at the base of the barred it was 4".  The length of the barrel from top to base was 6 1/2".  I hope this helps!

**Q: What is the barrel diameter?**
A: At its widest point, it's about one inch. Maybe an inch and a half. And it gets smaller as it goes up and ends at about a half inch.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Nice curls - learning curve involved

My daughter is Chinese and has long straight hair that doesn't hold a curl well. I wanted to find a curling iron that would curl well and hold the curl. I read the reviews on this and thought I would try it. One thing I didn't realize was that this is just a wand, it doesn't open like a regular curling iron. You just wrap the hair around it and then have to hold it there. This makes it a little difficult because the iron gets VERY hot. I am getting better at it but there is a learning curve involved. There are different temperatures to choose from but it heats up VERY fast which I like because my old curling irons I would have to wait for. They give you a three finger glove - never seen anything like it - to help you keep from getting burned but I still worry about getting burned since the iron is so hot. Also, my daughter's hair is so long that I have trouble getting all the hair wrapped on it sometimes but for the most part, I am successful. It makes nice strong curls that last. The curls are really pretty, much nicer than a regular iron. This is something that I would not trust a child to do on their own - I am not sure at what age I will let my daughter use it on her own but not for many years (she is almost 10 now). The curls seem to hold very well since the iron is nice and hot. It was a good purchase.
