Just because you choose not to read does not mean you have the right to call the seller a ripoff. Now onto the actual review:This cable connects to your VGA out (the blue port in your machine) and connects to an HDMI port on a converter box. Now I say converter box for a reason, because VGA is an analog output and HDMI is a digital input. For those who aren't familiar with analog and digital consider this: remember when you were younger and had those rabbit ears on your tv? Try using them today, you won't get many channels when 3 years ago you'd get all local channels. The antenna is an analog reciever (the VGA port) but all airwaves are digital now (HDMI input), so you won't see a picture.If you do not have a converter box to change the signal from analog to digital, pass over this item and consider getting a VGA-VGA cable, most HDTVs have a VGA port; just look on the input menu, if it says "PC" you have a VGA input.I bought a converter box alongside this item and the quality is as I expected. It's not quite full HD, but it doesn't matter too much how the quality is to me. The problem is with my monitor being too outdated, not the wire, so don't be discouraged if you want to buy a similar product. Just make sure all your specs match up beforehand.Sturdy product - very inexpensive compared to similar products. If it does, I can't find one, there's no documentation regarding what MIGHT be required, blame the manufacturer of my graphics card for that one I don't know but in addition to that I'm not sure whether when I did connect this from my PC to a 50 inch TV that pulled double duty as a monitor the TV went kaput. It doesn't work anymore. Was it the connection or it just went out by coincidence I can't be sure. Would you want to give it a try on another monitor? It took a few weeks, but Iwent out on the limb and gave it a shot using another PC (I'm going to take a chance on a 55 inch going out too? I'm not that brave BUT I tried it on an older 32 inch.) That one didn't break BUT it didn't work either which led me to wonder all the preceding. F*ck if I know.
