Although only two reviews on desertcart I checked out other selling points and the reviews were great....and I’m totally impressed with this product, including the price. Having bought a full Ducati touring kit for my Ducati Monster 1200S ( and been sorely disappointed with the product, poor zips, weak clips, etc....) I took a chance on these as I now have a Ducati pannier frame that would at a guess just about hold the bags from the wheels. When they arrived I was immediately impressed with the welded seam quality and thickness of the bags, the quantity of strapping and the huge Velcro saddle strap that covers the rear saddle/tail cover. (Bit of advice, get some anti slip fro your tail cover as it prevents road grit from driven rain rubbing the paintwork). Trialled then with a local weekend camping ride appro 120 mile round trip, fully laden with tent, sleeping bag and mat, stove, clothes, shoes, wet gear and bikes clobber. Held tight as you like, sits neatly behind the rider and doesn’t shift laterally. Bags have roll top and clips, tightening straps and 3no Velcro girdle straps, 2 no adjustable safety straps and handles, although carrying is easier and more a case of like a horse saddle over the shoulder. Rode 8hrs of rain (30-90mph) and not a drop got in on just two rolls of the top strap, so in my book that’s watertight. Only issue I had was the positioning with my stock exhaust cans, I had to glue a welding heat pad to the bag to prevent it melting on the top can, but it worked fine. Also the spring clip on the rear locator strap end got too hot and melted shut, but just repositioned to avoid direct heat in future. All round opinion: great high quality product, good stitching, plenty of security points, Great capacity, looks good on the bike. And....Fantastic value for the money! Tip: I’m knocking up some 12 mm varnished plywood liner walls for the inner sides for more support against the bike pannier frame to fit inside the bags (avoids adding anything to the bike for aesthetic reasons. They have a combination of fixing methods and so long as they don’t touch the exhaust, they should be fine.I love mine and can’t think of anything that represents better value. **Q: Are these the throw over kind? as I don’t have a pannier rack. I have a Honda cb500x** A: Yes they are the throw over kind. You can actually check out on YouTube how people have attached them. I converted mine though to attach to individual frames on each side of my motorcycle. Each bag is are separate and attach together by a fairly hefty Velcro strap in the middle with 2 other not so wide straps. You can see it in the picture on Amazon. They’re a very secure watertight system and I’m very pleased with mine. Also, a great price point. **Q: Can these be attached while also allowing for a pillion ? Thanks** A: Due to the Covid pandemic I haven't gone touring with this bag yet, and even if I did I would be going solo, but having briefly fitted the bag to my bike it seems no different space-wise to having a set of hard cases fitted, so the pillion space should be the same. Bear in mind that the bag's straps run over the seat, so you might want to put something on top of that for comfort, eg a piece of a yoga mat. **Q: How rigid are they when empty? These panniers seem well made (time will tell) and water-proof thanks to the "Ortlieb-inspired" roll-top method. 30 liter (each) is quite a large size, so not ideal for some spur-of-the-moment shopping but rather, longer trips. Please notice that although Lomo gives the impression (at least to me) that they are made by them in the UK, these are actually MADE IN CHINA.
