It comes out the box pretty ready to use in less than 15 minutes it's up and ready to go. I had to use it in a pinch my new mattresses weren't delivered on time and the couch wasn't comfortable at all. Then I remembered OH, I got the air mattress and got it out and setup in less than 15 minutes. After sleeping on it for one night I can say it's firm and comfortable, it didn't move when I moved. The height of it is great it didn't feel like I was sleeping on the floor but in an actual bed. There were no problems getting in or out of it.
