Review: Very comfortable utility hat for sun and hot weather. - I’m here re-ordering a couole of thses hats. I purchased a couple of them 2 years ago and I really like them. I lost my light grey hat when my neice was visiting and borrowed i to ise at the beach. 🤣 You know how that goes! I’m glad she likes it. But it left me with only one, and I used it every day in the late spring and throughout the summer, and early fall, I use it zwhen walking my dog or doing yard work. It’s still in great shape, very durable but lightweight. I want another to keep for when I’m going out with friends during the summer (I’m in a seaside town.) Plus another to have on hand for when family visits and forgot their own. They fit nicely, and I must have the adjustable slider string because otherwise all hats just fall off my head! I do like the flap that coveres the back of my neck - it doesn’t itch, has venting, and keeps me from getting subburnt. But it also folds back nicely into the hat when not needed.

We spent hours walking the boardwalks fully exposed to the sun, and without this hat I'm sure I would've ended up sunburnt, overheated, and dehydrated. The neck flap is a great feature — it kept the back of my neck fully covered, which is an area that's easy to forget about and often gets the worst burns. I also work outdoors fairly often in the summer heat, so this hat isn't a one-trip purchase for me. It's become part of my regular gear for anytime I know I'll be in the sun for extended periods.

**Q: Would this hat fit a larger size head?**
A: I'm a 7 5/8, which has always seemed Large by comparison... and it still fit easy and requires me to tighten the band just a little in the wind.  That said, what is a "larger size head".  You might want to measure your noggin one day so folks have a reference point.  ;)

I have size problems too. My head is about 23 1/2. I wish they would address size in the description.

A: The neck flap extends down about eight inches and its overall horizontal length is about 13.5 inches.  This is the best hat I have found for keeping the sun from my neck and face.

**Q: Neck flap is too short, & i get sunburn between lower neck & top of shirt, due to tilting head down when backpacking. can you make neck flap longer?**
A: No. This one comes down pretty far but this was for a 6 yr old.
