So after checking with many stores and even more online sites I gradually realized that I am still living in the 20th century and the plug in swag lamps are as rare as hens teeth and was told by a big box store clerk that they are out of style, like he knew what was in style! I'm not looking for style just a nice lamp for overhead lighting and I finally found this lamp so I ordered it and it arrived sooner than I expected. I put it together and attached it to the ceiling above a rocker recliner I also recently purchased and it's looks really nice with the rest of the living room, not too big, not too small, and not too heavy.....p.s. I combined this purchase with a remote outlet control so that I can switch it on and off without the need to use the in-line switch. Very satisfied with the look, cord length and price.
