A: Great question!  Wok Mei uses a natural caramel color, not an artificial ones. And yes, it is gluten free. The caramel color does not come from wheat.

A: Yes, Wok Mei All Natural Oyster Sauce is Gluten Free, as is the entire Wok Mei line.

**Q: Why does it say it's vegetarian when it lists "oyster extract" as an ingredient? This should not use the word vegetarian on this product page.**
A: Our Wok-Mei Oyster sauce is most certainly not vegetarian -- it contains oysters!  We have no idea why Amazon has flagged it as such, but have opened a case to ask them to remove that. Good eyes - thank you for that.
