This gauge is suitable for all 4,6 or 8 cylinder gasoline applications **Q: Do you make a 52mm tacho for diesel engines** A: Sorry we only make 86mm tachometers for diesel engines. They are listed separately. **Q: Does anyone know if it can been used for a motorcycle with one or two cylinders?** A: Sorry these Tachometers are not suitable for motorcycles **Q: Will this work with alternator R terminal and ground or does it have to be connected to ignition coil?** A: Hi If you take the connection from Alternator this gauge can only work at three different pulses per revolution: 8 PPR, 12 PPR & 16 PPR. Therefore we do not recommend this particular gauge for diesel engines. We recommend our Alternator driven Tachometers - item numbers B00RY2VOB6 and B00RY42A62 for diesel engines as these can be programmed from 3 to 255 pulses. These however only come in 85mm diameter.
