Daily lighting means, it is not suitable as a lighting as your light bulb as I believe that the bulb in this ring light is different from the daily light bulb you use in your house. Do not use the on/off switch frequently is the same logic as the light bulb in your house, if you on/off the switch fast and often, this action will reduce the life-time of the light bulb or even burn it out. I'm fine with replacing the tripod as I expect to strip the screws within a handful fo set breakdowns.The only other functional drawback is that while you can use batteries instead of wall power, you can't charge batteries on the unit with the unit plugged in.
