It has multiple carrying handles on the crate, and two additional options on the included storage bag. There is a big storage pocket on the back of the crate itself where you can stash all those ribbons, leads, bait, and treats; a large holder for a big water bottle or thermos; and even a washable sherpa pad, although the pad is very thin and I will add another crate pad on top of it. I bought the 42" size for my puppy because he is a long-legged breed, and it allows him to stand up or stretch out. It's BIG! He would probably have been okay in a 36", so measure carefully and consider how you might use it. I intend to use this multiple places, including dog shows, dog sporting events, and when traveling, and his bestie could fit inside with him! I wanted it to be extra-spacious so he would be comfortable on the days he spends more time inside at an event. What I liked best about this 4-door model is all the options for cross-ventilation, since I live in the US Deep South and we have hot weather much of the year. When we use it outdoors, I will add a reflecting shade cover and use a cooling mat.The downside was the instructions. You're pretty much on your own, so I recommend doing what I didn't do and take pictures of each step or make detailed notes as you unbox your crate. As advertised, it was super-simple to set up--all it takes is snapping the 2 top struts together and sliding the strut cover over each, then zipping up the top. Note that the page of instructions talked about velcro straps to secure the solid door covers, but mine has only elastic loops and toggles. Taking your crate down is more complicated if you want everything to fit back together the way it came, and I couldn't find any instructions online to help with this. Be sure to unzip the top door/window before you fold it down, then release the struts. I learned that I had to fold down the end with the manufacturer's name on it first, which was counter-intuitive for me. The sides have to be folded in correctly before lowering the other end and snapping the clips to hold everything together. Once you have that figured out, the whole thing fits easily into the matching storage bag. The included handle options on the bag mean I can toss it over one shoulder and still hold a dog leash and carry other items all at one time, even though I am only barely over 5 feet tall. The whole thing will fit between my second-row seats and my Trans K-9 dog crate in my Subaru Ascent. If you don't want to deal with the bag, there are two different handle options on the crate itself.I bought the purple after observing the numbers of similar grey and brown crates lined up at our first dog show. It is a really nice, deep eggplant color. There is a clip if you plan to attach a crate tag. Be aware that you cannot ship your dog in a soft crate, and it would not provide much protection in the car in the event of an accident. I don't recommend using it for car travel. One thing to consider if you live in an area with lots of wind is that it may not stay in place when your dog is out of it, or if you have a very small dog. The crate weighs less than 20 pounds.The picture is of my 9-month-old pup after he voluntarily went into the crate to check it out--it didn't even require treats to coax him in! He even curled up in the back and took a little nap before coming back out in this photo.The crate seems a little sturdier than the ones some of my friends have, but it would definitely NOT be appropriate for a dog who scratches or chews when crated. For now, I won't leave him inside when a friend or I are not right there to be sure he doesn't scratch the mesh door/window flaps. I'm pretty sure he'll be okay on his own when he gets a little older. I would emphasize that he has been crate trained in wire crates since he was a few weeks old, he sleeps in a wire crate (his choice since he has finished teething), he eats in his crate, and he spends time crated if we are away from home someplace where he cannot accompany us--so he has no crate anxiety at all. I would recommend that you crate train your dog in a wire or metal crate first before expecting him to know how to behave in a soft crate. Therefore, I wouldn't recommend it for potty-training for most puppies. However, in a stressful situation like a dog show, sporting event, or trial, it does give your dog a nice, quiet place to de-stress from the craziness if needed. I did a lot of research and, I purchased this Kennel because it’s a few inches taller than comparable ones. Also it’s a little bigger than necessary but, I want it to double as a comfortable place for him to sleep, stretch and move around when arriving at my destinations. Also, I want him while sitting, to not need to duck, to see out.The Kennel arrived in a box, showing the contents and the box was in great condition. Inside, It was then inside sufficiently strong wrapping of plastic.. Everything and looked nice. It was then inside a zippered case and zippers functioned perfectly. The Kennel was all in one piece. You unfold it and there’s (2) two sets of rods on the inside, of which you join the ends of two. You do this twice. One side of the rod is spring loaded. As you push it back, you must tilt the two rods as you insert the non-spring side, inside the spring side.There’s a zippered top, a zippered front, and zippered on one side. These openings do not span from absolute top to absolute bottom. The other side and back have the same material as the zippered parts, which are for ventilation, and do not span from top to bottom. I really like the design.Initially my 14 lb pup was reluctant to go inside. He has a 36” x 19” x 24” wire kennel he goes in and out all the time. So, I brought it into the playroom and threw some toys in as we played, and in no time, he was going in and laying down looking at me, as if to say, hey, I like this. The floor material is thin padding, which I expected. I have a thick padding/ mattress for his wire kennel, but I removed it, put in another location for him to lay, and have a sheet fluffed up on one side, so he can pick from soft or hard, cool or warm, without the hotness a thick pad offers. I intend to do similar with this soft kennel.Meanwhile, looking, I realized I had some pillow cases I designated for him when he was 5 lbs, as something to lay on. I slipped the cover on the floor pad it came with and it fit like it was made for it.Now that I’m certain he’ll adjust to it, I’ll reexamine it thoroughly for stitching and overall construction, which for now, looks really good. I’ve seen low stars because their pup ate through it. This is not a fault of these kennels. If your dog likes to chew on items not designated for him, he or she will bust out of this with ease.The only unexpected things are the flooring. Not that I would do this but, I wouldn’t recommend lifting it with your pup inside. You may for some reason want to move it down from your vehicle, with pup inside, before letting him out, or vice versa. Just for a little extra reinforcing purposes, I’ll cut out a thick piece of cardboard for the bottom. Also, I can see the bottom wearing out if you slide it or move it around.Overall, I really like this soft kennel. It’ll fit in my back seat and it’s mainly in case of an emergency evacuation because I live in hurricane country. Also if I vacation he’ll be safe in the back seat and a place to sleep at destinations. I originally got an older version that I really liked, however there was room for improvement. EVERYTHING I would have changed about the older version, they have now added to this newer version! I was shocked and so impressed! I think they really listened to their customers.First of all, it now comes with an extra structure bar on the inside, and ironically it's actually easier/faster to set it up now because of this. The structure just feels stronger overall also!With the original one I had, you weren't able to completely block out all the sides, it was just a screen.Now, they have added flaps to all sides so, you can block out any light on all sides...and they all have the screen only option on all as well! This is a must for my dog because she is part husky and loves "den-like" areas. I should also mention, the zippers/velcro are great quality.I also love that you can now have the longer/lengthwise side open, instead of just the ones at the ends of the crate.I would definitely recommend this! The only reason why I got a new one was because I wanted to downsize the crate I already had. The old one is still an awesome crate!
