Review: Building - Says take 2 people to build 3 to 4 hours instructions no help video hard to keep up with took me and farther in law 2 days to build but once up look good
Review: Don't believe the hype. - I rarely write reviews about products I buy as the 98% of the time do exactly what they say they will, and it’s a problem free purchase.. So, onto to this purchase.. I do not buy anything without far too much research and procrastination, for some reason this purchase did not fall into that bracket. I’d been carrying out research into a Garden Shed for my elderly mother to relieve some of the strain on her greenhouse, and for whatever reason, bought this one without reading a single review! Had I read the entertaining reviews, I would not be writing this one! I’m a middle-aged chap who knows how to handle a set of ‘spanners’, read a set of instructions (and correct where required). I have an extensive collection of the afore mentioned ‘spanners’ and probably too many ‘Power Tools’ for one man alone. I had a buddy assisting who is likewise well skilled and equipped, a flat-pack shed stood no chance, it will be up in an hour including a tea-break! Previously mentioned elderly mother provided tea, biscuits, sandwiches and moral support when the will to live was lost. So, what went well? It was delivered on time, on the day stated and was left where my mother asked it to be left. The multiple layers of packaging tape had protected the contents admirably. Opening the two packages, was a breeze with a fresh blade in my trusty ‘Stanley Knife’. It is a nice colour green. Return collection was on time by the courier. A full refund was ultimately issued without too much effort. What didn’t go so well? The parts and individual panels are stamped and cut by machine, their edges are razor sharp (Two pairs of gloves are provided, they are not Cut-proof), I was bleeding in less than 10 minutes of opening the packages..fortunately 40+ years’ experience of ‘Spannering’ and Nursing meant there was multiple means to arrest the bleeding available! The parts are thin stamped metal with super sharp edges (no idea if they were steel as I didn’t determine that), I have seen thicker tin foil on tins of coffee, do not attempt to put this up in any sort of breeze, it will end in tears and bent/creased panels. Components/sections are broken down into far too many individual components all held together by tiny nuts and bolts that you have no hope of holding with the gloves provided or finding when you drop them on the ground. Presumably the parts breakdown is to minimise the packaging size, well done, it worked! The base is practically useless as it stands, you will need to add a floor to the shed or be constantly tripping over the support beams – that don’t support! The sides will go together without too much difficulty; however they will not be secure, and the bolts/nuts will require multiple applications of thread lock to keep them tight, or coat them with a two-part epoxy adhesive if you actually manage to get the shed assembled. The door framework/mechanism has been designed by an individual (possibly blind) who will never assemble his masterpiece or have to open the door! The roof, the parts that made up my roof were never going to fit on my shed without some major metalworking/cutting from my collection of spanners and power tools, it simply wasn’t the roof for my shed, the many bolt/screw holes not lining up were the first clue as to the final outcome of the day. So, 8 hours (16 man/person/woman hours) later we had a shed base, four walls, a door aperture with non-functioning runner-track and two assembled doors (even the handles won’t fit the doors!) A roof had been built in numerous configurations in an attempt to make it fit..it didn’t. Decision was taken to disassemble the following morning and return, or if it didn’t survive the breeze that night, roll it up and take to the local recycling plant. Morning came, it was still standing..sort off, it came down a lot faster than it went up and the process of repacking and return commenced. The initial return request was accepted without query instantly by desertcart/Vendor – maybe desertcart knew what we had purchased? The first Email (? Automated) from the Seller didn’t ask why I wanted to return the item; they stated that it would take 5 days to arrange the collection and for me to provide them with a suitable collection date. A date was provided. The next Email which looked to be from a real person then asked why I wanted to return, I referred them to the original Email when they/It agreed to a collection date, giving them no opportunity to start a discussion about the return. Next Email asked if there was anything they could do to resolve the issue, a partial refund/discount, further parts supplied, or if I wanted a full refund. A full refund was requested again, they replied stating it would take 10 working days to process, I gave them 10 working days and asked where the refund was at that point, a further Email appeared stating it had been issued and would take 2-3 business days to appear in my account – it did. As others have noted in the reviews, refunds can take some time, the plan here is do not engage in conversation, be polite but firm, ask for a refund and stick to it. Some thoughts on the shed – It’s crap, save your money and buy a wooden one you can repair in the future. I doubt it would last a typical British winter, surviving the Autumn in some parts of the UK might be a challenge for it! It certainly would not survive a moderate storm unless in a very sheltered spot (inside a garage perhaps?). Additional bracing would be required for this to last any length of time. There are gaps between the roof panels (even if you get it to fit), the roof would act as a lovely sail in the wind, you could share the shed with your neighbours during the winter.. It’s certainly not 100% waterproof without some major sealant work (see other reviews). The claimed ventilation openings to prevent ‘mold (sic), condensation and unpleasant odours’ are certainly not required, there are enough gaps in the panels, roof structures to provide ‘ventilation’, it’s a metal shed, no amount of ventilation is going to prevent condensation. Summary. If you want a nice green shed that will go together well and last a few years..it’s not this one. 1 Star as I was refunded 100%

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good shed, instructions not so good.
*by J***Y on 25 September 2023*

It’s a nice size shed for one (I live alone). While building we had to watch a couple of videos as the instructions were not very clear. I would advise building the outer frame first then putting the middle frame in, and then carry on as per instructions. But make sure they are the right way (check diagram three times as the diagram changes too) as this effects the corners of the outer bits. Also there was a lot of “screw in the screws” then You have to undo them for the next bit to go on. Especially the top of the door. Read all steps first and make a plan as you could be there hours un doing what you have done to fix something else to it. The metal can be a little flimsy while building but once all built seems very sturdy. It took 2 of us 6 hours to build, we are not professionals but some sections are very fiddly and frustrating. I advise to use a drill, and you need a small spanner also for the nuts. This comes with no tools to assembling. Pleased with the end result, now need to get a floor for it.
