A lot of people with indigestion and heart burn actually have low acid not too much. But so many times doctors prescribe an anti acid because it will stop it from coming up your throat. That’s just treating the symptoms though and not treating the root problem. If you are too low in stomach acid you will have terrible heart burn. The test to tell if you are low is to take hcl with pepsin with a meal and if your tummy burns then you know you don’t need it.
