A: The premium doesnt alert once, the multi pack doesnt alert you many times.

**Q: What is the difference between the $12 and $17 units?**
A: The $17.00 unit has a battery saver function that the $12.00 does not

**Q: Has someone tried the different pack options and can tell the diff? premium pack 17$; multi 11.98$ and multi-2pack at 41.51$ (makes each 20.75$)?**
A: different sellers have different prices and the color field is being used incorrectly.  for prime members at least the cheapest per unit is currently the $11.98 multi.  if that is true for you select that one and adjust the quantity field to purchase how many you want.

I'm not sure how long the 9v battery lasts (years?) but you can place it next to an appliance and forget about it until there's a leak. Worked for me when the hot water heater started leaking.
