## Description

Galileo Galilei, the pioneer of modern physics and astronomy, never could have imagined that the remarkable thermometer he invented four centuries ago, would become one of the most attractive, intriguing and eyecatching gift items today. The Galileo Thermometer is a glass cylinder filled with colorful spheres that measure the correct temperature based on a fascinating scientific principle. What Galileo discovered is that spheres of different weights would rise or fall according to the temperature. Because the liquid in the cylinder contracts slightly at lower temperatures and expands at higher temperatures, the spheres rise and fall accordingly. In a Galileo Thermometer, the lowest floating sphere in the upper part of the cylinder tells the correct temperature within 2 degrees.

**Q: are the tags on one sided F and the other C?**
A: Not on the one I purchased. I'm not sure of other models. On my 18 inch model the tags are all Fahrenheit on both sides.

**Q: What is the temperature range, how many degrees between bulbs, and how many bulbs in the thermometer (24 inch)?**
A: The 11 spheres indicate temperatures between 62 to 82 degrees Fahrenheit, in 2 degree intervals.

Beautiful and works great.  The first one the vendor sent had one of the bulbs inside broken, but the vendor immediately sent me a new one, free of charge.  I really enjoy this and actually find it useful as a quick way to know the temperature in the house with just a glance.
