Review: Excellent lens at a good price - Excellent product, especially for the price. Lens quality looks good, there is nothing loose or rattly. Colors focus correctly, there are no color fringes. Straight lines appear straight. The image is perfectly focused and sharp from edge to edge at least as far as my old eyes can tell. The black housing that protects the lens when not in use is neither too tight and therefore hard to use, nor is it too loose and floppy. It is just tight enough to stay in place when the lens is not being used and also just tight enough to not be floppy while the lens is being used. The lens is not especially sensitive to eye position compared to the telescope eye pieces that I have used in the past. I have no prior experience with jewelers loupes but I used to play with telescopes and various eyepiece lenses for those telescopes so I do have at least a basic users understanding of what makes a well designed good quality lens. My summary is that this provides a sharp image and is easy to use. I also like the supplied neck strap and zippered case.

For my use, it's the equal of my Belamo and much nicer to use than my trusty B&L (much wider field of view than the B&L). It's sturdy and mechanically well made. You can adjust the pivot tension. The pivots are properly bushed. And the lens can be removed from the housing should that ever be needed. In other words, it's clearly not disposable junk. The view is wide, flat, and sharp. Is it the equal of a $100+ lens? I honestly don't know. It may not serve the purposes of pros who need every last drop of chromatic aberration control, distortion control, and durability (but maybe it would? I simply can't say). Definitely give it a try before deciding you need something significantly more expensive!
