Review: Great scope for the price - I put this on my Browning X-bolt 7mm mag. It is not a bad scope for 0-200 yards and the awesome price. I would get more zoom and bigger objective for longer range shooting. I love the clarity of the Leupold glass in it. I also have one on my wife's Ruger .243 and it shoots great out to 200 yards. If I get a long shot over 200 out in Wyoming next month, we will see where it hits and I may add more to review. It's doing really good on paper though.
Review: great scope at twice the price - I'm a long time Leupold user and have had years of use from their products, never had one fail me. I never owned a Redfield before Leupold bought them. I picked up the 4-12x40 for a CZ 455 for long range bullseye matches and have been extremely happy with my purchase. Once I found out that Leupold was making a scope under the Redfield name I started looking at the many reviews of the product line online. I didn't find a single poor review so I purchased one to see for myself. The scope is excellent and everything said about them I've found to be true. Very well made, the optics are excellent and compare to scopes costing twice as much. I'm purchasing another one for a Ruger American 243, this scope matches the price point for that rifle extremely well and will give me a very tough and reliable scope/rifle for the up coming season as well as for coyote's Side by side with a Leupold Vari-X III, mine, it's hard to see a difference in the optics or clarity. The Redfield appears superior to Nikon, also mine, at the same price point and greatly superior to Bushnell, Simmons, which I don't own but have looked at numerous times for comparison purposes. If they keep this level of quality and value I'll be a "Redfield guy" for years to come.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: i'm looking for the reticle that has a circle with a dot like Leupold fire dot but without illumination is this the correct one? Thank you**
A: Yes. There is a circle in the middle of the reticle but there is no dot in the center only cross hairs. With the circle circumference a dot would obscure your target. The dot below the circle is for extended range beyond your zero at the center point. http://www.redfield.com/_media/downloads/Revolution_3-9x40mm.pdf

**Q: second question is it normal for my focus knob to squeek? sounds like it need to be oiled or something..**
A: I've heard a focus knob squeak at first. If you do use any lubricant I'd stick to graphite.

**Q: Does the reticle size change with magnification or stays the same size regardless of it?**
A: The reticle stays the same. It is a second focal plane reticle. First focal planes are way better for ranging long distances quicker. This scope is good for hunting. Get a fixed power second focal plane or first focal plane variable power for precision.

**Q: what size Butler Creek lens caps will fit?**
A: Hi Ed, I did not buy any lens caps to go with my scope so I am afraid I will not be able to help you with this question. In case you are wondering, the scope itself is great. More than an equal to scopes costing a lot more money.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great Price Great Clearity no AO :(
*by E***R on January 8, 2013*

Great Price Great Clearity no AO :(, bought this as my first scope. It now lives in my basement in a box. I was trying to shoot at various ranges including 25 yrd. It will not work because the parallax is set to 100yrd. Great hunting scope but I am using it at anywhere from 50 feet to 125 yrd. So my bad. I found a scope with an AO which was the ticket for me. Quality is great. Optics are the best. Customer service is good. Just figure out what you want to do then pick a scope. I got a Simmon 3-9x32AO for $55.00 and love it. The Redfield scope to me would live on a high powered, hunting rifle.
