I thought I was going to have to buy a brand new dishwasher because the rusting tines kept putting stains on my white dishes. The dishwasher is not that old, but the tines are in bad shape. You don't need glue or anything else. Just twist these little caps on the tines and presto, rusting tines are not a problem anymore. I bought 2 packs the first time, but I am buying 2 more packs to get the rest of the tines covered. I can’t comment on their longevity. (1) I needed to use a heavy duty cutter to trim off the rusted and bulging tips of the prongs. A normal pair of pliers or wire cutter wasn’t strong enough. (2) Once a couple of prongs started to show rust, it didn’t take long for a LOT more prongs to start showing rust. In the end, it took quite a few more packages of the caps to complete the job. It would be nice if they sold packages with larger quantities. By the time I’m finished, I expect I’ll use more than 100 caps.
