### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great Resource for Study and Research
*by J***) on January 1, 2018*

Review of: "The Babylonian Talmud: A Translation and Commentary 22-Volume Set ed. Edition," by Jacob Neusner (Author). This is a very well written, understandable (readable), and affordable set for the researcher. The translation is all in English (only) and consists of twenty-two (22) volumes where the entire Babylonian Talmud is presented. The set was copyrighted and published in 2005 and then a revised edition in 2011 by Henrickson Publishers Marketing, LLC P.O. Box 3473 Peabody, MA 01961-3472. The ISBN for the set is: 978-1-59856-526-3.The set is edited by Jacob Neusner and translated by Jacob Neusner, Tzvee Zahavy, Alan Avery-Peck, B. Barry Levy, Martin S. Jaffe, and Peter Haas. This set is codified and is a reproduction of the thirty-six volume edition originally published as "The Talmud of Babylonia: An Academic Commentary," in the University of South Florida Academic Commentary Series (1994-1999). This is an easy to read and understand format. This version references the name of the tractate and places the folios (subsections) grouped together into separate chapters in each volume. It utilizes running page headings showing the tractate, chapter and folio. In addition, Jacob Neusner provides references to changes in language from Aramaic to Hebrew. He also provides many references, such as to the Mishnah, the Torah and other works like the Tosefta. The volumes consist of the following tractates:No. 1- BerakhotNo. 2- ShabbatNo. 3- 'ErubinNo. 4- PesahimNo. 5- Yoma, SukkahNo. 6- Besah, Rosh HashanahNo. 7- Ta'anit, Megillah, Mo'ed Qatan, HagigahNo. 8- YebamotNo. 9- KetubotNo. 10- Nedarim, NazirNo. 11- Sotah, GittinNo. 12- QiddushinNo. 13- Baba QammaNo. 14- Baba Mesi'aNo. 15- Baba BatraNo. 16 - SanhedrinNo. 17- Makkot, 'Abodah Zarah, HorayotNo. 18- Shebu'ot, ZebahimNo. 19- MenahotNo. 20- HullinNo. 21- Bekhorot, 'Arakhin, TemurahNo. 22- Keritot, Me'ilah, Tamid, NiddahAgain this is a great resource for study and research.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ So Much on So Little!
*by D***E on August 10, 2013*

For the longest time this material has only been available in slightly pricey multi-volume book sets. Now, thanks to the miracle of CD-Rom and computers, here's 20-some volumes on one disk! And the price is right for me, for sure. This is a good translation & commentary, too. Kudos to the publishers of this! Without this technology, I wouldn't have enough room in my place for all this material.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A Good Value
*by H***R on November 11, 2012*

This is a beautiful, well-bound set of books. But just so there's no misunderstanding, this edition of the Talmud is 100% in English translation. There's not a word in Hebrew or Aramaic, not even in footnote form. In fact, there are no footnotes. The serious scholar may want to look at the 73 volume Schottenstein edition which is even nicer (and at $3,000 it better be). There you'll find all the original language text plus English translation. You have to weigh the costs and benefits, but both editions are excellent.
