Interesting Reading For Newbies and Experienced Idea Generators!

*by D***A on Reviewed in the United States on February 14, 2018*

"Every Single Day..." by Charbonneau is an important motivational tool which inspires readers to dream about doing something considerable while taking simultaneous action to reach meritorious goals. The author shows us how to get past "analysis paralysis" to actually start projects and see them through until completion.A theme of this book is to dream about doing something until the dream itself is internalized along with the willingness to progress toward goal completion in iterative steps taken each day. Readers will learn the importance of getting past inertia in order to begin complex tasks and progress toward a completion date with certainty.Everyone who moves toward a meritorious goal must first start, stumble, reassess and move ahead with a refined approach toward reaching the goals set forth at the outset. Very few, if any, tasks are completed with zero failure points or stumbles. A strong point of the book is that the author sets up readers for roadblocks which must be overcome as part of the learning process. The book could be labelled alternatively as "what it takes to succeed"!

Tips for moving past procrastination and inertia

*by C***R on Reviewed in the United States on January 19, 2018*

Back when I was looking for "the secret" to good writing, I came across Barbara Ueland and Natalie Goldberg. I still have their books on my shelf and recommend them frequently. Other writers such as Elizabeth Gilbert, William Zinsser and Anne Lamott are also on that shelf. I am always open to adding more. What all of those authors gave me, and what Bradley Charbonneau may in future works, was a sense of their ongoing struggles. They mentored me with their honesty and openness and with the quality of their writing.Charbonneau serves up a simple prescription for getting past the procrastination and inertia that keeps so many people dreaming instead of doing. What he doesn't do for me is to present an inspiring role model. He's like a relentlessly upbeat cheerleader, in spite of his admission he has struggled with his own writing demons. His tips are familiar to anyone who's read more than one blog or writing book. They are good tips that don't need his invention of a new linguistic paradigm (possible/repossible/impossible). If you are new to writing or one of the legions of people who "have a book in me" but aren't getting around to writing it, you may find the nudge you need in this book. But if you are serious about writing and want the inspiration of first-rate writing and some of the best possible insight, I would recommend checking out one of the writers in the first paragraph.

‘Maybe you've let your dreams rust.’

*by G***P on Reviewed in the United States on February 16, 2018*

Author Bradley Charbonneau has published several children’s books and travel books, but in this ‘self-help’ genre he unveils his own secrets for making life meaningful and successful. He wisely asked entrepreneur John Muldoon to provide a forward introduction to his work. John’s credentials include Founder of Monthly Experiments Project – ‘to help people make lasting changes in their lives by taking on 1-month personal challenges and experiments.’ The result is a book by two handsome young gentlemen who offer pathways to finding success and meaning to our lives. There is a flavor established early on – to quote, ‘This isn’t for the faint of heart - this is for the heart. Bradley Charbonneau's life drastically changed when on Nov. 1, 2012, he accepted a challenge to Write Every Day for a month. He was familiar with monthly challenges like weight loss or waking up early, but the difference this time was that this one was close to his heart. What happened next changed his life in ways he could have never imagined. The book, "Every Single Day" tells his story--and teaches you how to achieve what you're after. Because you are after something. I know it. You know it.’After John’s inspiring tribute to his friend Bradley, the author opens the gates to his pathway for fulfillment and success. ‘I transformed myself when I made the decision to change my behavior.’ He places bold statements throughout to make sure he has our attention, phrases such as ‘Dreaming the dream was a whole lot easier than living the dream.’ He divides his recipe for change or transformation into sections: Precaution, Procrastination, Passion, Perseverance, Patience, Play, Peroration (‘a long speech characterized by lofty and often pompous language; the concluding part of a speech or discourse, in which the speaker or writer recapitulates the principal points and urges them with greater earnestness and force‘), and Conclusion or Summary of where he has brought us, adding another quotation ‘A dream becomes a goal when action is taken toward its achievement. ‘— Bo BennettThis fine book encourages us to take a very deep breath, start afresh, and make or lives what they CAN be. A very fine book. Grady Harp, February 18
