I called the Dealer that was on the contact Info.. Anyway, This is a Great Little Magnetic Base, it works very well on my Full Jeweled "Federal" Indicators that was left to me by my Grandfather. And Yes, I"m pretty picky about my equipment. I suggested, if it hasn't already been Patented, that by putting "A FEW SMALL WELL PLACED RUBBER GRIPS" on the contact points it will hold BETTER WHEN PLACED VERTICALLY!!!!!!!!!!! If you own a Magnetic Base like this one or any other Type/Brand,I have a "Simple Test" you can do from where your at ---------- Get your Magnetic Base and a THIN RUBBER BAND,cut a small piece of the band,about the size of a Hole Punch hole used on Paper or a little less. Place it on one side of the magnetic surface and place any type of flat metal across Both Sides. I used a plan metal dinner knife but you really want to use a piece of metal with EQUAL WEIGHT on both sides. Put a small amount of finger pressure in the of center of the object you are using. The side that does not have the rubber will "slide" before the side that has the rubber. "Put the rubber pieces on both sides of the BASE and it will hold the base Better than not using this Type/Kind of "Grip Surface". Try this on any vertical metal surface. The Trick is to use right type of gripping surface and the right thickness between the magnet and the metal surface. ---------------- Try it and see for your self!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Anyhow, no complaints from me. the magnet is well over 100lb of force which is good enough. I can't even budge it, which is how I know it is very strong as i can easily curl 100lbs my self. screws seem to tighten with a little effort and will use it from time to time to hold my micrometer to check things with.
