I’ve bn trying several pomades and read that this had a firm hold and pleasant scent. I didn’t find this to be true. It took me a while to place the smell but it’s like Carmex lip balm or almost like Ben Gay. Second was I found it super sticky to my hands. All pomades I’ve tried I could simply rinse off of my hands. This stuff I have to use very warm water and soap to scrub it off. With that kind of stickiness you’d think it would hold great. It doesn’t. I have waved to straight hair. I pull up the front of my hair to stick it up but this didn’t work when I tried to do my normal routine. There are other options that r cheaper and without an odd scent.Update: when trying to wash out I actually had to rinse and repeat but even after washing twice with daily cleansing shampoo it was still in my hair. Even worse, some have "over done" their job, making my hair crunchy and stiff as a board on top of making it look greasy instead of shiny (there's a difference).This stuff, on the other hand, is a breath of fresh air. Not only does it smell incredible (very fresh, I'd say like peppermint, but that's just me), but it also keeps my hair in place looking super nice AND with a smooth shine that doesn't look like I haven't showered in two weeks. And for an oil-based pomade, it cleans really easily with regular shampoo. I personally don't even need a degreaser like with others I've tried.Also, as a Metro-Detroit native/resident myself, it's really cool to me that these guys are local on top of having a great product.
