We have moved from one home to another and have spent many hours in our chairs with our feet up. We have spilled drinks on it, food disasters and lived our lives around it. It is still just as black and shiny with no tears or flaws in the fabric. There are no scratches or scuffs and it is as solid as the day we got it. It is faux leather but matches to our black leather chairs well enough unless a person loos those kind of things.
