I need to use it a few more times to see if he is going to get use to it. Will have more to comment later. Will be using again this weekend. **Q: Would these straps work for a dog to lay on the floor between bucket seats in the 2nd row?** A: Yes, I believe they would because the strap adjusts to a fairly long length. I have mine pretty short and my pups can stand up and lay down on the back seat. If I adjusted them to a longer length, I believe they could get onto the floor and lay down, if they wanted to. I agree with the previous answer that I think they are 26 inches fully extended so I would also measure from the seat latch just like the other person stated to see if they would allow the dogs to lay down on the floor. They are terrific seat belts! **Q: AAA says if you're in a collision going 30 mph an 80-pound dog will exert about 2,400 lbs of pressure; how is this going to protect my dog?** A: Better to have them secure and not fly around in the car becoming a projectile at your head. I also found that it calms my dog down. **Q: Will this hold a 120 pound dog?** A: No it won't. An 80 lb dog in a 30mph crash will exert a force of 2,400 lbs, per AAA reports. This is only rated for 850 lbs according to what the manufacturer stated in the description. I would look up crash tests for Pet seatbelt restraints.
