They are beautiful velvet curtains. I'm not sure of the weight but they are heavy enough to give added warmth around the windows in the winter. They hang nicely but they do need a bit of ironing. I have two different colors and both colors look like the picture. Pay attention to the hanging style when selecting them. This company makes a few different styles. They are soft. The stitching is nice, they look and feel like quality velvet curtains all without breaking the back. These are not total black out which is why I chose them.
